Join a globally leading manufacturer in Wilmer in a long-term, temp-to-hire role where your technical skills power the clean energy transition. We’re hiring Equipment Technicians at Levels 1 and 2 across day and night shifts, with clear pathways into advanced technician and leadership roles.
A day in this roleYou begin your shift with a proactive walk-through of the production line, checking critical parameters, logging readings, and prioritizing maintenance. Mid-shift, you might isolate a complex fault in an automation cell, align a newly installed station using hoists and precision tools, or coach a junior tech through safe LOTO and troubleshooting steps. You’ll close the day documenting maintenance work, summarizing trends for your lead, and planning preventive tasks to keep uptime high.
Compensation- Technician 1: $25/hour (night shift: $27.50/hour)
- Technician 2: $27/hour (night shift: $29.70/hour)
- Perform scheduled inspections to keep production equipment in optimal condition and head off failures.
- Document daily operations and maintenance activities clearly and on time.
- Diagnose irregularities in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems; isolate root causes and restore operation.
- Assist with mechanical alignment and setup during equipment installs using hoists, jacks, squares, rulers, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
- Support commissioning and repair of newly introduced equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests; complete high-quality repairs and verify results.
- Execute preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and boost utilization.
- Follow all safety operating procedures, maintenance rules, and installation standards/specifications, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Generate and interpret equipment data; communicate clear reports to leadership.
- Coach junior personnel and share best practices across shifts.
- Take on other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
- Technical diploma, associate degree, or higher in machinery, electronics, or automation; familiarity with solar modules or semiconductors.
- 1–2+ years in high-volume manufacturing (photovoltaic experience is a plus).
- Hands-on troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and automation domains.
- Solid understanding of pneumatic systems.
- Skilled with shop equipment, bench tools, hand tools, and test/inspection instruments.
- Meets all Level 1 criteria.
- Independently solves complex equipment malfunctions with minimal supervision.
- Trains and mentors junior technicians effectively.
- Deep understanding of machine architecture and operating principles; continuously elevates maintenance capability.
