Mechanic

Position Summary:The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing food processing and packaging equipment to ensure maximum equipment reliability and minimize production downtime. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems, along with the ability to work safely in a food manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:Perform preventive maintenance on food processing and packaging equipmentTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systemsRespond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtimeInstall, adjust, maintain, and repair production machinery and facility equipmentConduct routine equipment inspections to identify potential issues before failures occurComplete work orders, maintenance logs, and repair documentation accuratelyMaintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work areaWork closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Sanitation, and Safety teams to support daily operationsFollow all GMP, OSHA, Food Safety, and company safety regulationsRecommend equipment improvements to enhance reliability and efficiencyPerform other maintenance duties as assignedJob Requirements:Previous experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a food manufacturing or production environment preferredStrong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and conveyor systemsAbility to troubleshoot and repair industrial production equipmentAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentationStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsExperience completing preventive maintenance programs and work ordersBilingual in Spanish and English requiredKnowledge of GMP, OSHA, and food safety regulationsAbility to work independently and respond effectively to equipment emergenciesWillingness to work overtime or flexible schedules as needed
