Maintenance and Grounds Technician

An apartment community in Erie, PA is looking for a dependable Maintenance & Grounds Technician to assist with general building maintenance, apartment repairs, and grounds upkeep. This position involves a variety of hands-on maintenance tasks both inside and outside the apartment community.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout apartment units and common areas

• Replace and repair kitchen countertops, sinks, toilets, and other fixtures

• Repair or replace stove burners, stove hoods, and appliance lighting

• Move and assist with the installation of appliances such as stoves and refrigerators

• Repair ceilings and drywall, including replacing damaged drywall as needed

• Paint walls and apply wallpaper

• Repair and replace light fixtures, light bulbs, and smoke detectors

• Install window screens and replace window shades

• Repair doors and reattach doors to hinges as needed

• Assist with minor plumbing repairs and other general maintenance tasks

• Perform lawn care and grounds maintenance, including cutting grass, trimming bushes, and maintaining flower beds

• Assist with general cleaning of apartments and common areas as needed

• Perform other maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous maintenance, building maintenance, groundskeeping, construction, or handyman experience preferred

• Basic knowledge of general building repairs and maintenance

• Ability to use basic hand and power tools

• Ability to perform basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and repair work

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Dependable and willing to perform a variety of hands-on tasks

• Ability to lift, move, and carry appliances and other materials as needed

• Background check required

• HUD or housing inspection experience is a plus

Benefits/Compensation

• 35 hours a week 8:30a-5p M-F

• Some flexibility with start time

• $15-17/hr depending on experience level

• Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts
