Operational Technology System Engineer

Job Title: Operational Technology System Engineer Location: Salisbury, MD Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 Work Model: Onsite – onsite

Responsibilities

• Drive the reliability, security, and performance of the manufacturing technology systems, including networks, servers, virtualization, SCADA/HMI, and historian platforms.
• Support and troubleshoot OT servers, virtual machines, applications, industrial switches, firewalls, and device communications.
• Assist with system upgrades, patching, backups, and recovery testing to ensure operational stability.
• Support network segmentation and OT security best practices in compliance with cybersecurity policies.
• Collaborate with plant leadership, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, and vendor teams to deliver effective technology solutions.
• Participate in capital projects, system upgrades, and site expansions supporting plant operations.
• Maintain asset inventories and documentation, support audits, and assist vulnerability remediation activities.
• Support manufacturing and processing environment requirements, troubleshooting industrial protocols, and ensuring safety and compliance.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience with OT systems, industrial IT, or controls-related environments.
• Experience with Windows Server, virtualization, and industrial networks.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers, SCADA systems, and industrial protocols.
• Strong communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for plant stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects independently.
• Experience with Rockwell platforms (PlantPAx, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View/SE, Linx) and data historians (AVEVA PI, FactoryTalk Historian, Canary) preferred.
• Knowledge of ISA-95, Purdue Model, IEC 62443, and multi-site support is a plus.
