Job Title: HR Generalist

Location: Houston, TX

Pay: $33.65-$38.46

Benefits: Medical and 401 (k)

Type: 3-month contract

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support new hire orientation and onboarding processes, ensuring new employees have a positive and seamless experience.
  • Coordinate and process employment-related visas and immigration documentation, partnering with employees and external resources as needed.
  • Develop and facilitate HR training programs for employees and managers, including onboarding, policies, procedures, and other HR-related topics.
  • Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and workplace questions.
  • Support employee relations matters and assist management with HR-related issues and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Assist with the administration and communication of HR policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Partner with managers and leadership to support employee engagement, development, and retention initiatives.
  • Assist with various HR projects, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure HR practices are administered consistently and in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Perform other HR-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience.
  • Strong understanding of general HR practices and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Experience supporting onboarding, employee training, and HR administration.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Google Workspace/Google Suite, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, and Google Calendar.
  • Experience processing employment-based visas or working with immigration processes.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
  • Experience developing or delivering training programs for employees and managers.
