This individual is expected to provide excellent customer service to all visitors and always displays a vast amount of knowledge of the facility's programs and offerings. Positions include hostess, skate rental, bag check, and general guest services. This is a seasonal part-time position based outdoors at the iconic Winter Village at Bryant Park Ice Rink. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Guest Services:Greet guests and provide information and wayfinding as needed Provide courteous and friendly first-in-class service to all guests Check in guests and look up ticket informationBe knowledgeable about facility Maintain confidentiality and discretion with guest and team member information Professionally resolve guest concerns and complaints and/or direct to appropriate Manager Know and enforce the venue policies and procedures Fill out bag check ticketsTake guest's personal belongings and place in bag check areaRetrieve guest's personal belongingsComplete special projects, daily assignments, and other duties as assignedSkate Rental:Pass out skates to guestsReturn skates to skate racksDisinfect skatesClean/wipe down skates upon returnUse skate sharpening equipment to sharpen skatesDaily cleaning tasks within departmentMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must be willing to test for Fire Guard CertificationMust be 18 years old or olderMust be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays - No exceptionsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environmentMust have excellent guest service skillsMust be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skillsAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situationsMust be respectful and friendly to our athletes, guests, visitors, spectators, leaders and fellow team membersMust work well with othersMust take personal initiative for the betterment of the team and venueCommitment to the safety and well-being of othersWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to lift 20 pounds waist highMay be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bendWill be required to operate a computer, tablets, and cell phone Facility has intermittent noise
