Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist - Outpatient with 1+ year of experience and BLS certification for a short-term acute care hospital setting.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with a focus on outpatient physical therapy
- Patient population includes orthopedic, neurologic, and pediatric cases
- Common conditions treated include joint replacements, spinal surgery recovery, sports injuries, and neurologic rehabilitation
- Utilizes modalities such as e-stim, ultrasound, cervical/lumbar traction, cryotherapy, and moist heat
- Uses Cerner for charting
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Occasional Saturday on-call coverage required
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
- BLS certification required
- Manual therapy certification preferred
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- License required if applicable
- Pending state license accepted
- Two supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Main responsibilities include evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning for outpatient physical therapy patients
- Skills include home exercise program development and patient/family education
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a designated break to reset eligibility
