Description

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience and orthopedic caseload expertise for a critical access, Magnet hospital setting.

Details

• Outpatient clinic setting within a critical access, Magnet hospital
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm with some flexibility available
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• No floating required outside of the PT Outpatient unit
• Uses Cerner EMR (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• BLS certification required
• IL state PT license required and must be active and in hand prior to application (license required if applicable)
• Manual Therapy certification required; Dry Needling preferred
• Outpatient clinic and orthopedic case experience required
• Experience with adaptive/assistive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, body mechanics, pain assessment, sensory response, skin integrity, strength testing, and vital signs
• Experience with orthopedic conditions including ankle sprains, cervicalgia, DDD, DJD, frozen shoulder, gait training, hip/knee injuries, low back pain, sciatica, spinal conditions, and joint replacements
• Post-stroke rehabilitation experience required
• Experience with modalities including cryotherapy, e-stim, moist heat, TENS, and ultrasound
• Documentation experience including assessment, discharge, evaluation, long/short term goals, and plan of care
• Billing experience with Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare A/B, Private Pay, and Worker's Compensation
• Experience with crutches, gait belts, walkers, and shoulder slings
• Knowledge of home exercise programs, patient/family education, and safety/injury prevention
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include evaluating and treating orthopedic outpatient cases using a range of manual therapy and modality techniques
• Business casual attire or plain solid scrubs required
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
• Candidates must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• RTO ideally limited to 5 days or fewer
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
• Previous PERM or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must be able to arrive in IL at least 3 business days prior to start for fingerprinting compliance
