Description
American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with orthopedic experience for a 13-week assignment at a Magnet-designated critical access hospital.
Details
- Outpatient clinic setting within PT Outpatient unit
- Day shift schedule Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM with some flexibility available
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- No floating required within scope of practice
- Fixed schedule with no block scheduling accommodations
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
- BLS certification required
- IL state PT license required and must be active and in hand at time of application (license required if applicable)
- Manual therapy certification required; dry needling certification preferred
- Orthopedic case experience required, including ankle sprains, cervicalgia, degenerative disc/joint disease, frozen shoulder, hip fractures, knee injuries, low back pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, sciatica, spinal conditions, and total hip/knee replacements
- Post-operative experience with cervical, shoulder, and spinal surgeries required
- Post-stroke rehabilitation experience required
- Assessment skills required including AROM/AAROM/PROM, body mechanics, pain assessment, sensory response, skin integrity, strength testing, and vital signs
- Documentation experience required for assessments, evaluations, discharge planning, and care goals
- Equipment experience required with crutches, gait belts, rolling walkers, shoulder slings, and standard walkers
- Modality experience required including cryotherapy, e-stim, moist heat, TENS, and ultrasound
- Billing experience required across commercial, Medicaid, Medicare A/B, private pay, and workers' compensation
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Facility is a 25-bed Magnet-designated critical access hospital
- Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, home exercise program development, and patient/family education
- Professional skills required include safety and injury prevention education and recognition of signs of abuse
- Business casual attire or plain solid scrubs required
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
- Open to first-time travelers
- Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
- Requested time off ideally limited to 5 days or fewer during the assignment
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- Candidates not requiring licensure at submission must arrive 3 business days prior to start for fingerprinting compliance
