**Exciting Opportunity for a Cat Scan Technologist!** **Job Description:** - Perform complex CT procedures with expertise and professionalism. - Utilize your judgment to gather and document patient clinical histories efficiently. - Prepare, screen, and verify accuracy of contrast questionnaires with patients and their families. - Administer and identify contrast media for CT exams as per licensed practitioner’s orders. - Review patient prescriptions and communicate with Radiologists and Referring Physicians to ensure appropriateness. - Clarify prescriptions directly with physicians to align with CT protocols. - Verify insurance authorization for exam scripts and coordinate with Finance for modifications. - Retrieve and schedule outside studies in EPIC for timely availability in PACS. - Provide patients and referring physicians with necessary exam copies and reports. - Evaluate radiographs using the PACS system to ensure quality and compliance. - Collect relevant patient information to tailor scanning protocols for safety. - Ensure proper patient preparation prior to procedures, including shield and immobilization. - Administer the right type and dose of contrast agents confidently. - Communicate examination details to patients clearly, addressing any questions or concerns. - Perform venipuncture, IV maintenance, and relevant safety procedures. - Monitor patients closely for any reactions during scans. - Adhere to departmental policies by being punctual and maintaining standards of behavior. - Meet physical demands of the role by lifting and moving equipment when necessary. - Customize care delivery to meet the diverse needs of the patient population, considering age, culture, and communication barriers. - Uphold standards set by the organization and demonstrate competencies consistently. **Required Skills & Experience:** - Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning. - Familiarity with mechanical aspects of CT software and hardware. - Proficiency in using the PACS system. - Maintain necessary continuing education credits (CEU). - Achieve ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire. - Obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 3 months of hire. **Preferred Skills & Experience:** - At least six months of CT experience. - Knowledge of Epic and other HIS/RIS systems utilized by the organization. **Education:** - Required: Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program; High school diploma or equivalent. - Preferred: N/A **Certifications & Licensure:** - Required: NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License; ARRT Certified R.T.(R) License; American Heart Association BLS Certification. - Preferred: ARRT Certified R.T.
