HIGHLIGHTS:
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program - Education verification required
- ARRT registered in Radiography
- ARRT registered in CT
- WI-DSPS radiographer license
- AHA Provider BLS/CPR required
- Maintains active status in the modalities in which they practice
- Assists the department coordinator by providing clinical leadership,
completes projects, advanced level clinical duties and regular assignments as
requested - Is competent in all exams performed within the assigned modalities
- Corroborates patient clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is
documented and available for use by the radiologist - Prepares the patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired
results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety - Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices, and
accessories to successfully perform procedures - Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting
patient ability and comfort; immobilizes patient as necessary - Practices aseptic technique as necessary
- Prepares and administers contrast media as appropriate to procedures
performed; starts and maintains intravenous access - Initiates basic life support action when necessary
- Provides patient education
- Provides input for supply and equipment decisions, maintains control of
inventory and supplies for assigned area - Provides practical instruction for students and partners
- Observes universal protocol, standard precautions and appropriate patient
identifiers
