Alamon, Inc. seeks a Traffic Control Technician Level 1 for its Wireless Service department.
 
This position entails: The Traffic Control Technician (TCT) Level 1 is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and taking down traffic control zones to protect roadwork crews, motorists, and pedestrians in construction zones, utility sites, and special events. This is an entry-level position.

Job Description:
  • Flagger Operations: Direct drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians safely through or around work sites using STOP/SLOW paddles, hand signals, and two-way radios.
  • Site Safety Monitoring: Inspect safety setups throughout shifts to ensure cones and signs haven't been knocked down by traffic, wind, or ongoing construction activity.
  • Communication: Coordinate with job-site supervisors, team members, and emergency services to adjust traffic control setups as work progresses.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Driver's License: Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record (frequently required for operating company work trucks).
  • Certifications Required:
    • State Flagger Certification or ATSSA (American Traffic Safety Services Association) Flagger Card.
    • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Card.
  • Key Skills: High situational awareness, reliable attendance, strong teamwork, and clear communication.
 
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Possess a current/valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no DUI/DWIs within the past 5 years.                       
  • Must pass a criminal background check and a drug test.
  • Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
  • Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions.  Lifting or moving up to 50-70lbs.
  • Demonstrate abilities to successfully complete job tasks while accepting full responsibility for the safe operations and maintenance of the vehicle, equipment, and tools.
  • Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands. 
 
Work Environment:
  • This position will work outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions, and on varying terrain. May work for long periods in hot or extreme heat, cold, freezing, wet, windy, snow or icy conditions.
  • Daily exposure to heavy vehicle exhaust, construction dust, chemical fumes, and airborne particles and loud noises is possible.
  • Must always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.
 
Physical Demands:
  • Physical Stamina: Long shifts (8–12 hours) requiring standing, bending, and lifting equipment weighing up to 50–70 lbs.
  • Outdoor Environment: Year-round outdoor work subject to extreme heat, freezing conditions, rain, high noise levels, and close proximity to active motor traffic.
  • Must be willing to work either day or night shifts when necessary.
 
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel will be required based on the needs of the project.
  • Transportation and lodging are provided while traveling and working out of town for the Company.
 
Education and Experience: 
  • General construction or roadwork experience.
  • Highschool Diploma or GED Preferred.
  • Demonstrate abilities to successfully complete job tasks while accepting full responsibility for the safe operations and maintenance of the vehicle, equipment, and tools.
