Seasonal Facilities Assistant

The Seasonal Facilities Assistant supports the Garden’s Operations team during the busy GardenFest season. This hands-on position helps keep the Garden clean, safe, welcoming, and event-ready while assisting with facilities, exhibits, events, deliveries, and maintenance projects.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain Garden facilities, restrooms, public spaces, and grounds.
• Collect and remove trash, litter, and recycling.
• Perform routine and deep-cleaning duties.
• Set up and break down events, including tents, tables, chairs, and equipment.
• Move supplies, equipment, and deliveries throughout the Garden.
• Assist with installation and removal of GardenFest lighting, exhibits, displays, and related equipment.
• Assist with general repairs, maintenance, construction, and special projects.
• Provide friendly assistance and directions to Garden visitors.
• Report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and other issues to management.
• Maintain accurate records and use radios, schedules, task lists, and other communication tools.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and contact appropriate personnel or 911 when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with commercial cleaning preferred.
• One year of public-facing or hospitality experience preferred.
• Familiarity with common hand tools.
• Ability to follow equipment instructions and safety procedures.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
• Conversational Spanish is a plus.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and special events.
