Hemodialysis Registered Nurse (RN) – VA Northern California
Associated Health Professionals, Inc. (AHP), a Joint Commission Certified supplemental healthcare staffing agency, is seeking an experienced Hemodialysis/Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) to support the VA Northern California Health Care System in Martinez, CA.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced nurses seeking a full-time (Monday–Friday schedule) position at a VA healthcare facility
Position Details:
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Hemodialysis/Dialysis
- Location: VA Northern California Health Care System – Martinez, CA
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Schedule: Monday + Wednesday + Friday
- Pay: $2,790/week

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required for Federal Employment (VA) positions.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of two (2) years of current, consecutive Hemodialysis/Dialysis experience
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies in accordance with safe patient handling guidelines.
Responsibilities
The Hemodialysis RN will provide specialized nursing care to critically patients with acute and chronic renal conditions. Responsibilities include:
- Perform comprehensive renal assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition
- Provide specialized nursing care for patients with acute and chronic renal failure.
- Administer and monitor hemodialysis treatments in accordance with established clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Assess, monitor, and maintain vascular access sites, including AV fistulas, grafts, and dialysis catheters.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatments
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to caring for Veteran patients.
- Maintain compliance with VA policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures
