Prefer two (2) years’ experience providing residential care to the elderly or similar experience with specialized dementia care programs.

Prefer one year supervisory experience in a health related field.

1. Ensures provision of services to the residents and ensures that the all Federal and State policies governing resident care are closely monitored and carried out.

2. Confirms without fail that all medications as passed/reconciled without incident on a daily basis. Works directly with other medication technicians to complete med passes and compliance.

3. Audit resident information in Quick MAR to ensure completeness.

4. Monitors Quick MAR notifications in real time and clears them in timely manner.

5. Reviews exceptions from the previous day, verifies faxes were sent and families notified for all medications not administered.

6. Audits med room for complete compliance, including but not limited to backup, CSM log etc. This position is expected to “roll up sleeves” and directly fix any issues in the med room.

7. Audits MAR’s and fixes any holes.

8. Audit resident charts and fix any errors for compliance including but not limited to doctor’s orders, TB testing, licensing forms etc.

9. This position is expected to ensure the community never runs out medications for residents. This includes making sure all documentation is in chart to support getting medications from pharmacies, clarifying doctors’ orders, etc. to make sure proper

processes are commencing.

10. Conduct room sweeps and remove any resident contraband—may utilize other med techs as needed.

11. Obtain and enter resident weights into AL Advantage and provide doctor and responsible party notifications on gains and losses.

12. Responsible for processing monthly cycle fill.

13. Ensure alert charting completed per policy.

14. Verify medication orders with the doctors every six months.

15. Responsible for training new medication technicians and retraining current medication technicians as needed.

16. Supports administration in referral development and maintaining high census.

17. Participate in property surveys (inspections) made by authorized governmental agencies, as directed by the Executive Director.

18. Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests, following established safety standards. As directed by the Clinical Director, coordinate special provisions for the safety of residents with special needs, i.e., visual deficits, hearing loss.

19. Participate in fire and safety procedures when needed to assure resident/staff safety.

20. Per State of California regulations, as a “mandated reporter” you must report all known or suspected incidents of resident abuse of dependent adults or elders.

21. Performs day-to-day clerical work connected with the position.

22. Promotes and displays a spirit of teamwork in performance of daily duties through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

23. Support a positive and professional image through actions and dress.

24. Performs other duties consistent with the position as assigned by the Executive Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Age Requirement:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Certifications as required by the state.

Experience:

Prefer two (2) years’ experience providing residential care to the elderly or similar experience with specialized dementia care programs.

Prefer one year supervisory experience in a health related field.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform calculations in support of personnel actions, budget, and other financial responsibilities.

Reasoning Skills:

Understand and conceptualize concepts as well as demonstrate ability to make decisions in stressful situations.

Oral/Written Communication Skills

Be able to explain ideas and to communicate complex ideas to a wide audience (employees, residents, family members, governmental agencies, public, etc.), both in writing and verbally.
