Role Overview
We are seeking an Entry-Level Lab Technician to join our Complaint Investigations Lab in Alameda, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically oriented professional, recent college graduate, or candidate with inspection, quality, laboratory, or electronics experience who is looking to build a career in the medical device and biotechnology industry.
The Technician will support investigations of returned blood glucose meters, test strips, and sensors, helping resolve customer complaints through structured testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely unpack returned product shipments and sort products according to product line.
- Perform investigations of returned products to support resolution of customer complaints.
- Troubleshoot blood glucose meters, strips, sensors, and related components using appropriate laboratory and electronic testing equipment.
- Utilize equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, test fixtures, microscopes, and other troubleshooting tools.
- Accurately document investigation results in the Complaint Handling System.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate investigation records.
- Perform routine maintenance of individual quality records.
- Verify that equipment used for testing is within required validity/calibration status.
- Follow established SOPs, written work instructions, and quality procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform repetitive and routine investigations while maintaining a high level of concentration and quality.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with relevant technical experience.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to navigate web-based programs.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
- Strong documentation and data-entry skills.
- Ability to follow written SOPs and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy during repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Technical aptitude and willingness to learn laboratory and troubleshooting procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Medical Device, Biotechnology, Laboratory, Manufacturing, or Quality industry.
- Technical background involving electronics or equipment troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of electronic troubleshooting.
- Experience with inspection or quality-control activities.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, microscopes, or test fixtures.
