Job Description
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care, clinical
support, patient education, and appropriate medical response for clients in a structured
care environment. This role requires sound clinical judgment, strong communication
skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, clinical
staff, and other members of the care team to support safe, effective, and patient-
centered care.
Position Details
Position Title: Registered Nurse
Employment Status: Full-Time
Schedule: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Weekend Requirement: Alternating shifts every other weekend
Work Environment: Collaborative clinical care setting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive admission assessments for new clients, including review
of medical history, current health status, medications, and presenting needs.
Determine appropriateness of admission into program
Coordinate, support, and document follow-up appointments for existing patients
to ensure continuity of care and appropriate clinical follow-through.
Review laboratory results in a timely manner, communicate relevant findings to
appropriate providers or team members, and assist with follow-up actions as
needed.
Administer medications safely, accurately, and in accordance with physician
orders, facility policies, and applicable nursing standards.
Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately to urgent or
routine medical needs within the scope of nursing practice.
Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, health
maintenance, follow-up care, and other relevant medical needs.
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation in accordance
with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate effectively with providers, counselors, clinical staff, and
administrative team members to support coordinated care.
Promote a professional, respectful, and supportive environment for patients,
families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
Current and active Registered Nurse license in good standing.
Minimum of two years of hospital-based nursing experience.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary
team environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to
communicate clearly with patients, families, providers, and coworkers.
Ability to remain flexible, organized, and responsive in a changing clinical
environment.
Sound clinical judgment, professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and standards of nursing
practice.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with individuals receiving substance abuse or
behavioral health services is preferred.
Experience in a patient-centered or recovery-focused care environment is
beneficial.
