The Hydraulic Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, driving sales growth, and providing technical support for hydraulic products and solutions. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their hydraulic system needs are met through consultative sales, product expertise, and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve sales targets and revenue growth objectives.
- Assess customer requirements and recommend hydraulic components, systems, and solutions that meet operational needs.
- Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and technical product recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and service teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular customer visits to review performance, identify opportunities, and resolve issues.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements within company guidelines.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales forecasts, and activity reports using CRM systems.
- Support customers with troubleshooting, product selection, and technical inquiries related to hydraulic systems and equipment.
- Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking activities to promote company products and services.
Experience
- 3–5 years of sales, account management, or business development experience, preferably within hydraulics, fluid power, industrial equipment, or related industries.
- Experience working with hydraulic components, systems, pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, hoses, and power units is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and fluid power applications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand technical specifications and translate customer requirements into solutions.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel to customer locations within assigned territory.
- Ability to work in industrial, manufacturing, construction, and field environments
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related fields
- Mechanical background is preferred (Installation assistance is required for this position)
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Strong negotiation skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Must have clean driving record
- Must pass physical capacity test and drug screening
