Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination, planning, scheduling, financial management, execution, and completion of all assigned retrofit, new construction, and design build projects.  The Project Manager is accountable to ensure that all project specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget with the highest quality. This position demands a variety of management responsibilities and requires daily communication directly with clients, contractors, and interoffice teams to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop cost-effective plans, schedules and budgets for project completion, following a logical pattern for utilization of resources
  • Collaborate with sales/estimating and field operations teams for guidance and support, including technical direction
  • Document technical requirements, develops and implements project plans and facilitates efficient implementation of work scope
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting or exceeding stated deadlines and profit expectation
  • Plan and coordinate material purchasing and deliveries adhering to the project schedule and timeline
  • Manage and coordinate field manpower with project requirements
  • Understand contracts, prepares estimates for change orders and proposals for customers
  • Visit job sites to monitor progress, perform field inspections and resolve field problems as well as analyze productivity and its effect on job costs
  • Coaching and managing people in a team-based environment
  • Communicates on a regular basis with the customer and internal teams to foster and strengthen relationships
  • Reviews overall project and provide direction to minimize and manage potential risks
  • Documents job progress, changes, delays submittals, RFI’s and any other related reporting
  • Control the financial position of the project including billings, change orders managing material, sub-contractors, and provide an overall monthly status of the project to include the financial projections
  • Support the sales/estimating team and provide detailed information to help grow the future business
  • Participate in ongoing training programs

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • In-depth understanding of construction project management processes and purchasing/contract management
  • Knowledge of the mechanical and plumbing industries
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at various levels throughout the organization
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinker with a desire to improve efficiency
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter able to take initiative, and execute in a fast-paced work environment
  • Well organized and ability to prioritize competing demands with accuracy, in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office and other industry related software such as BuildOps, Bluebeam and Navisworks

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in commercial HVAC/plumbing construction project management,
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience managing cross-functional team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school, preferred
  • Valid PA driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screenings
