Job Description

Senior Production Planner & Master Scheduler

Direct Hire | $90,000–$110,000/year | 1st Shift | On-Site

Are you the person who looks at a production schedule and immediately sees what could go sideways?

We’re looking for a Senior Production Planner & Master Scheduler who can keep materials, people, machines, and production moving in the right direction. This is a senior-level role for someone who knows manufacturing planning inside and out and isn’t afraid to dig into the details, solve problems, and keep everyone on the same page.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule based on customer demand, capacity, inventory, and sales forecasts.
  • Plan production orders and ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Conduct capacity, inventory, and “what-if” analysis to identify potential roadblocks before they become problems.
  • Create and maintain SMT and manufacturing schedules.
  • Run and analyze MRP reports and manage work orders from release through completion.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Program Management.
  • Lead daily production meetings and provide clear updates on production status, material availability, and customer commitments.
  • Monitor schedule adherence, production efficiency, shipments, and standard vs. actual hours.
  • Expedite materials, adjust production priorities, and recommend schedule changes when needed.
  • Provide commitment dates and communicate schedule changes to Sales, Management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Help drive SIOP discussions and contribute to revenue and demand planning.
  • Identify problems, investigate root causes, and recommend solutions that prevent repeat issues.
  • Back up and assist the Master Scheduler as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 10+ years of direct production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong senior-level knowledge of production planning and capacity planning.
  • Extensive experience with MRP systems such as Epicor, SAP, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to read multi-level BOMs, drawings, and specifications.
  • PCBA/electronics manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Contract manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • AS9100 and ITAR experience preferred.
  • APICS or ISM certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented, assertive, collaborative, and results-driven.

The Details:

Pay: $90,000–$110,000/year
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Type: Direct Hire
Location: Fully on-site — no remote work and no relocation
Additional: Some overtime may be required during month-end, quarter-end, and fiscal year-end.

If you’re ready to take ownership of the production schedule, keep manufacturing moving, and be the person everyone calls when the plan needs a solution — we want to hear from you.
