Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $15.00 - $25.00 / hour (Based on Experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Mechanic to join a locally owned repair shop in Baton Rouge. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of passenger vehicles and commercial fleet vehicles. We are looking for an independent worker who takes pride in their craft and is looking for a long-term, permanent career opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire repairs, and fluid flushes.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues across various vehicle makes and models.
• Replace components such as water pumps, belts, hoses, brakes, and other mechanical parts.
• Maintain commercial fleet vehicles to ensure safety and operational reliability.
• Work independently to manage daily repair orders and meet turn-around times.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of automotive repair/mechanic experience required.
• Tools: Must own a personal, comprehensive tool set (Non-negotiable).
• Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to perform complex mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Work Ethic: Highly dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Pre-Employment Screening: Pre-employment background check and drug screen will be conducted following the initial client interview.
