Job Description
This role supports the launch of a new local delivery partner program by recruiting small and medium-sized businesses across designated Illinois markets. You will visit prospective businesses in person, present the program, qualify interested partners, and guide them through the full application and onboarding process. You will collaborate closely with a Field Manager and other local contractors, leverage Salesforce to manage your pipeline, and help organize community-based recruitment events. The position involves frequent travel within a two-hour driving radius and offers uncapped, performance-based commission in addition to hourly pay.
Responsibilities- Visit prospective local businesses door to door in targeted towns within approximately a two-hour driving distance.
- Present and confidently pitch the new delivery partner program to prospective businesses and generate interest in applying.
- Qualify prospective businesses based on program criteria and clearly explain program requirements and benefits.
- Guide interested businesses through the full application process, answering questions and resolving issues in the field.
- Log, track, and manage all lead and partner activity in Salesforce, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date pipeline.
- Import Excel spreadsheets into Salesforce on a weekly basis to ensure data is current and complete.
- Support the Field Manager in planning, coordinating, and hosting local recruitment events such as lunch-and-learns and town hall meetings.
- Partner with the Field Manager to engage local influencers and organizations, including chambers of commerce and economic development associations, to drive referrals and awareness.
- Follow up with applicants and newly onboarded partners to support them through early stages of the program as needed.
- Consistently represent the program with professionalism and enthusiasm while raising the bar for the delivery experience in complex last-mile scenarios.
- Travel daily within the territory, managing your schedule to maximize quality business visits and application conversions.
- Communicate regularly with the Field Manager and team on progress, challenges, and opportunities in the field.
- 1–2+ years of experience in sales and/or customer service.
- Proven outside or field sales experience.
- CRM experience required, with Salesforce strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence decisions, and close opportunities with customers.
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline, track activity, and follow up consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems for applicants in the field.
- Comfort working with multiple systems and technology (tech savvy).
- Ability to travel up to approximately four hours round trip on a daily basis.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation suitable for frequent local travel.
- 1–2 years of experience specifically in a sales and/or customer service role.
- Prior experience in a position that involved sales and/or negotiation with customers.
- Previous field sales experience is a strong plus.
- Experience working in community-based or small business outreach is beneficial.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field with limited supervision.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with diverse local business owners.
- Comfort presenting to small groups at events such as lunch-and-learns and town hall meetings.
- Strong organizational skills to balance travel, appointments, data entry, and event support.
- Eagerness to learn new tools and processes and adapt to a fast-moving program launch environment.
This is a field-based role with significant time spent on the road visiting local businesses across a defined Illinois territory. You will typically be on the road 4–5 days per week and work from home for the remainder of your time to complete follow-ups, data entry, and planning. The position requires daily travel of up to a four-hour round trip driving distance, with mileage reimbursed and a monthly phone allowance provided. You will use tools such as Salesforce and Excel regularly to manage leads and import data. The work involves in-person interactions with business owners, attendance at community events, and collaboration with a Field Manager and other local team members, primarily via phone and online communication while working remotely. A neat, professional appearance is expected when meeting with businesses and attending community events.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.50/hr.
