Journeyman Carpenter

About this role

Experienced journeyman carpenter needed for day-shift assignments in Abilene, TX. This role focuses on concrete formwork, wood framing, and general finish and rough carpentry on local projects. You'll work with a small crew following plans and specifications, set and strip concrete forms, handle floor and roof framing, and perform accurate measuring and cutting. Per diem is provided for covered assignments; reliable attendance and a solid carpentry background are required.

What you'll do

• Read and follow drawings, specifications, and layout marks on site
• Set, secure, and strip concrete forms and perform formwork carpentry
• Perform wood framing tasks: wall, floor, and roof framing
• Measure, cut, fit, and fasten rough and finish carpentry components
• Maintain tools, clean work areas, and follow site safety procedures

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of hands-on carpentry experience, including formwork and framing
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout drawings
• Skilled in both rough and finish carpentry techniques
• Strong measuring and cutting skills with hand and power tools
• Able to perform physical labor, lift heavy materials, and work day shifts

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level carpentry experience (5+ years)
• Proficient in blueprint/print reading
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Able to pass pre-employment background and drug screening
• OSHA 10 (or similar safety training) preferred
