Gallery Attendant - School of Art - Part-time

Provide visitor services and security during art exhibitions; assist with all preparatory tasks related to the exhibitions and events.

Position Duties

• Protect and maintain artwork and galleries.
• Greet and record visitors and answer questions about the exhibitions.
• Clean and organize galleries, work rooms and storage areas as needed.
• Transact and record sales and respond to visitor inquiries.
• Install, take-down, pack, and unpack artwork.
• Typing, filing and other office assistance.
• Prepare and serve food and clean-up for receptions and gallery events.
• Fill, sand and paint walls following exhibition closings.

Minimum Qualifications

• Customer service skills.
• Honest, reliable self-starter.
• Able to lift 40 pounds and comfortable using a tall ladder.
• Carpentry or artistic skills a plus.

• This position requires Federal Work Study eligibility. Applicants must have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for Federal Work Study and other need-based aid. The Student Financial Aid office determines your eligibility for aid and notifies you in writing. If FWS is not included on your "Notice of Financial Aid Eligibility" and you are interested in a specific FWS job, contact Student Financial Aid at (419) 372-2651.
