Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focusedMarine Outfitter to install, assemble, fit, and secure equipment, components, and outfitting systems aboard marine vessels. The Marine Outfitter will perform hands-on installation work in ashipyard and marine construction environment, using hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, drawings, and specifications to complete assigned work safely and accurately.

The successful candidate will work closely with welders, pipefitters, electricians, shipfitters, and other marine trades to ensure components are properly installed and meet project quality and safety requirements.

Must Have

• Previous experience in marine, shipyard, industrial construction, mechanical installation, or a related hands-on trade.
• Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools, including drills, grinders, impact tools, and cutting tools.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure and other basic measuring devices.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to measure, layout, fit, align, assemble, and secure components.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and established work procedures.
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces, vessel compartments, elevated areas, and active shipyard environments.
• Ability to work effectively with supervisors and other skilled trades.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position and wear required PPE.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as aMarine Outfitter or in a related marine trade.
• Previous shipyard or vessel construction experience.
• Experience installing marine equipment, doors, hatches, ladders, handrails, foundations, brackets, bulkhead components, deck equipment, or similar vessel components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, marine drawings, sketches, and project specifications.
• Experience performing layout work and verifying measurements, alignment, and fit.
• Experience working alongside welders, pipefitters, electricians, shipfitters, and other marine trades.
• Knowledge of marine construction, vessel outfitting processes, and shipyard safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and fit marine equipment, fixtures, structural components, and vessel outfitting systems.
• Install doors, hatches, ladders, handrails, foundations, brackets, bulkhead components, deck equipment, and other vessel accessories.
• Measure, layout, align, fit, and secure components according to drawings and specifications.
• Drill, grind, cut, fit, bolt, fasten, and assemble components as required.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, impact tools, and measuring equipment.
• Read and follow drawings, sketches, specifications, and supervisor instructions.
• Verify measurements, alignment, fit, and installation quality.
• Assist with the installation of equipment foundations, piping supports, ventilation components, insulation supports, and other marine systems as assigned.
• Coordinate assigned work with other marine trades.
• Identify and report damaged materials, installation problems, or discrepancies in drawings and specifications.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow company, shipyard, and OSHA safety requirements.
• Perform additional marine outfitting and general labor duties as assigned.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders and access different areas of marine vessels.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and tight vessel compartments.
• Ability to work at elevated heights when required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors and in shipyard conditions involving heat, cold, humidity, noise, dust, and changing weather.
• Ability to safely work around machinery, welding operations, construction activities, and multiple trades.
• Must be able to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety footwear, and fall protection when required.
• Must be available for early mornings, extended shifts, overtime, weekends, and varying schedules based on project requirements.

Safety is an essential responsibility of this position. The Marine Outfitter must perform all work safely, properly use required PPE, maintain awareness of surrounding operations, and follow all company and shipyard safety procedures.
