About this job
Job Description
You start your shift by reviewing blueprints and work orders, mapping out the sequence of cuts, fits, and welds. You gather materials, set up your station, and choose the right process—often MIG or stick—to join components precisely. As parts come together, you verify alignment, make clean tacks, and complete structural welds. You operate cutting and grinding tools to prep and finish edges, and, when authorized, you move materials with a forklift to keep work flowing. Before each piece leaves your table, you inspect your welds for quality and compliance with specifications. You finish by tidying your area and logging your work, ready for the next build.
