Job Description
As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic at Great Dane, you will keep our production lines running safely and smoothly on 2nd shift. Your typical evening begins at 5:30 PM and wraps at 4:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, with overtime available. You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and collaborate with fellow mechanics and supervisors to diagnose issues, make repairs, and return equipment to service quickly and correctly. No previous experience is required — bring your mechanical curiosity and willingness to learn, and we will train you.
Compensation and perks- Wages starting at $28.50/hour

- Listen for unusual sounds and discuss operating variations with supervisors or maintenance teammates to pinpoint problems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and test machines and equipment to determine true root cause before repair.
- Dismantle machines and equipment to access problem areas; remove defective components and install new or repaired parts.
- Inspect and measure parts to identify wear, misalignment, or defects; realign and adjust components such as spindles, clutches, and ball screws.
- Locate damaged air and hydraulic piping; measure, cut, thread, and install replacement pipe.
- Start up equipment after repair to verify proper operation; repair broken parts as needed.
- Set up and operate metalworking tools (lathe, drill press, grinder, milling machine) to fabricate or repair parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other moving parts; read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repair or replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related devices.
- Repair and maintain the facility’s physical structures, including fabrication and repair of counters, benches, and partitions.
- Comfort using pneumatic power tools and a wide range of equipment.

- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Work performed in both office and plant environments.
- Activities include keyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, and walking.
- Ability to stand and move on concrete for 8–12 hours; ability to see, walk, bend, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, carry, climb (including ladders), work overhead, push, and pull.
- Lift up to 50 pounds multiple times daily during an 8–12 hour shift.
- Maneuver large parts and assemblies up to 180 pounds by pushing, pulling, and flipping into place.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
- Employees must wear all mandated PPE including protection for eyes, ears, hands, head, body, and feet.
