Lead Trailer Mechanic

Bemana is seeking a Lead Trailer Mechanic in Clio, AL to oversee the repair and maintenance of a semi-trailer fleet for our client. The company specializes in pine straw and mulch products for landscaping applications throughout the Southeast.

Position Offers

• Up to $30/hour. If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions.
• 40 hours week minimum

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, and inspect the company's semi-trailer fleet.
• Lead and assist the Trailer Mechanic with daily repairs and maintenance.
• Diagnose and document defects and identify trailers requiring decommissioning.
• Coordinate trailer readiness for production and logistics needs.
• Manage parts, supplies, vendors, invoices, and shop expenses within budget.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
• Ensure shop safety and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor the Trailer Mechanic and support a collaborative team environment.
• Travel to other company locations for repairs and inspections as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of CMV brake repair and annual inspection experience.
• 2+ years of mechanic leadership experience.
• Advanced welding skills.
• Strong knowledge of semi-trailer repair, maintenance, and regulations.
• Commercial vehicle repair training or certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with fleet management software and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license; CDL experience is a plus.
• Brake inspectors certification
