Job Description: The Facilities Maintenance Technician provides hands-on technical support for facility systems, including HVAC, chillers, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building automation systems, while supporting safe and reliable facility operations.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections of chillers and process chilled-water systems.
- Check air handling units and RO water systems.
- Monitor facility temperature, humidity, and environmental conditions.
- Troubleshoot HVAC, Client, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
- Complete preventive maintenance and ad hoc work orders.
- Track and manage work through a CMMS/work-order system.
- Coordinate and support contractors and vendors.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
- Respond to facility emergencies and after-hours maintenance issues.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule approximately every three weeks.
- Support facility projects, installations, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of industrial or facility maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical and HVAC experience, including chiller systems.
- General electrical knowledge, including 110V, 240V, and 3-phase systems.
- Experience troubleshooting Client and building systems.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to guide maintenance teams and contractors.
- Ability to work onsite and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in mechanical spaces, including climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Technical school, trade certification, or associate degree in Facilities Maintenance, HVAC, Electrical, or a related field.
- Lead or supervisory experience.
- Experience with building automation and environmental monitoring systems.
- Experience with CMMS platforms.
- Experience coordinating contractors and vendors.
- EPA Universal, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical certifications.
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- Forklift or aerial-lift certification.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
