Tooling Environment: Proficiency with Git, Maven, Linux/shell command-line tools, and modern IDEs (e.g., VS Code).
Codebase Fluency: Proven ability to navigate, understand, and safely modify large, mature software systems without breaking existing functionality.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, paired with relevant full-lifecycle software development experience (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on professional experience) PLUS 20+ years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 24+ years of specialized technical experience in lieu of a degree.
, Desired SkillsExperience with AI-assisted software development and LLM developer tooling (e.g., Claude Code, AI coding agents, prompt-driven automation, and reusable skills).
Familiarity with high-throughput messaging, event-driven architectures, or stream processing frameworks.
