Job Title: Raw Material Analytical Chemist I
Location: Clark, NJ 07066

Duration: 6 months

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week


Position Overview:

  • Seeking a Raw Material Analytical Chemist I to support the Analytical Department within Research & Innovation (R&I).
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in raw material quality control, HPLC, and GC, along with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical testing of samples and raw materials using chromatographic, spectroscopic, wet chemistry, physical testing, and other analytical techniques.
  • Perform testing using techniques including HPLC, GC, FTIR, TLC, pH, specific gravity, viscosity, Karl Fischer, and potentiometric titrations.
  • Apply established test methods and procedures to complete analytical testing accurately and efficiently.
  • Collect, process, and interpret analytical results and draw scientifically sound conclusions.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports to communicate results and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Perform root cause analysis for non-conformance events related to laboratory testing.
  • Communicate testing status, results, and project updates effectively to management.
  • Follow written procedures and laboratory practices to maintain quality, compliance, and safety.
  • Prioritize multiple projects and meet critical timelines and project milestones.
  • Adapt quickly to changes, delays, and unexpected events while maintaining productivity.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and workspace.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of professional, post-graduate industry experience.
  • Experience with raw material quality control/testing.
  • Hands-on experience with HPLC and GC is required.

  1. pH
  2. TLC
  3. Auto-titrators

  7. Wet chemistry techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong bench skills, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced, team-driven environment.
  • Commitment to laboratory safety and quality practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Empower, ELN, and LIMS.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
