Lube Service Technician – Heavy Equipment
Location: Belle Glade, FL – Everglades Water Treatment Project
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
We are seeking a dependable Lube Service Technician to support heavy equipment and field operations on the Everglades Water Treatment Project in Belle Glade, Florida. This position is responsible for performing routine lubrication and preventative maintenance services, checking equipment fluids, identifying basic maintenance issues, and assisting with minor repairs.
The ideal candidate has previous experience working around heavy equipment or construction machinery, understands basic preventative maintenance procedures, and is comfortable working outdoors in an active construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled lubrication and greasing of heavy equipment and machinery
- Check and maintain oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, and other equipment fluid levels
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic equipment service
- Identify leaks, worn hoses, loose fittings, and other minor maintenance concerns
- Assist with minor repairs, including replacement of leaking or damaged hoses when appropriate
- Inspect equipment during service and report mechanical concerns requiring additional repair
- Maintain tools, service equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
- Assist mechanics and other technicians as needed
- Follow all project, company, and site-specific safety procedures
- Properly use and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Complete assigned maintenance and service tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Be available to work overtime when required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 1 year of related experience in equipment maintenance, lubrication, construction, fleet service, or a similar mechanical environment
- Basic mechanical knowledge and experience performing oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and routine equipment maintenance
- Experience working with heavy construction equipment preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and understand work and safety instructions
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a field maintenance team
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
- Ability to frequently bend, kneel, squat, climb, reach, twist, and work in various positions while servicing equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the workday
- Comfortable working outdoors in South Florida conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, wind, dust, and mud
- Ability to work around heavy equipment, oils, lubricants, fuels, fumes, and typical construction-site noise
- Must follow all PPE and jobsite safety requirements
- Ability to work overtime as project needs require
Work Schedule
The standard work schedule for this position is 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with overtime availability
