This role is responsible for leading parts personnel, maintaining inventory controls, supporting internal and external customer needs, and ensuring operational consistency through effective purchasing, merchandising, workflow management, and customer service practices.

Job Description:
Parts Department Leadership & Operations
- Lead, coach, develop, and support parts department personnel.
- Promote accountability, professionalism, operational consistency, and customer service standards throughout the department.
- Establish departmental goals, operational expectations, and performance standards aligned with dealership objectives.
- Conduct department meetings, coaching discussions, and employee development activities as assigned.
- Monitor departmental workflow and operational performance to support efficiency and profitability.
Inventory Management & Purchasing
- Maintain balanced inventory levels that support service department, body shop, wholesale, and retail customer needs.
- Monitor inventory turnover, obsolescence, stock order procedures, and parts availability to support operational efficiency and profitability.
- Establish and maintain inventory controls, pricing structures, and merchandising standards.
- Oversee special order processes, shipping and receiving activities, and inventory organization practices.
- Ensure parts are properly tagged, documented, and processed in accordance with manufacturer and dealership procedures.
- Monitor lost sales activity and adjust inventory strategies to support customer demand and operational performance.
Financial Performance & Business Management
- Support departmental profitability through effective pricing, inventory management, expense control, and operational oversight.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning initiatives related to parts department performance.
- Review operational reports, inventory analysis, sales trends, and departmental productivity metrics.
- Support wholesale parts growth initiatives, sales promotions, and customer retention strategies.
- Assist with receivables management, past-due account collection efforts, and operational financial controls as assigned.
Customer Experience & Interdepartmental Coordination
- Promote a professional and hospitality-driven customer experience for both internal and external customers.
- Collaborate effectively with service, body shop, sales, and operational departments to support workflow efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Support timely turnaround of parts needed for repairs, reconditioning, and customer transactions.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and timely in accordance with dealership standards.
- Maintain strong vendor, manufacturer, and customer relationships that support operational success.
Safety, Compliance & Operational Standards
- Ensure compliance with dealership procedures, manufacturer requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support workplace safety standards including hazardous materials handling, OSHA compliance, forklift safety, and operational housekeeping practices.
- Maintain organized, secure, and professional department facilities and workspaces.
- Support ethical business practices, operational accountability, and proper documentation standards throughout the department.
Professional Standards
- Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong attendance record.
- Participate in leadership meetings, operational discussions, and dealership development initiatives as assigned.
- Contribute to a collaborative, accountability-focused, and team-oriented workplace culture.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous automotive parts management, inventory management, or dealership operations experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASE Parts Specialist certification or related automotive certifications preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
