We're partnering with a well-established trailer manufacturing company in Plant City, FL that manufactures transfer trailers, dump trailers, and suspensions is hiring an Aluminum & Steel MIG Welder! As an Aluminum & Steel MIG Welder you are responsible for installing, assembling, and repairing dump bodies, trailers, wet kits, 5th wheels, and other truck equipment to company and customer standards to meet the production schedule.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Adheres to all procedures as outlined in the company handbook and follows all required safety practices.
- Uses and properly maintains all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Inspects assemblies, components, and completed welds for conformance to specifications and immediately brings defective or inconsistent work to the attention of supervision.
- Performs MIG welding using metal-cored wire, along with a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
- Works with heavy-duty and abrasion-resistant materials, including AR450 and AR500 steel.
- Produces strong, consistent welds with proper penetration and minimal inconsistencies or discontinuities.
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings, fabrication and assembly drawings, installation manuals, and electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Welds, installs, repairs, and maintains hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery, parts, and systems.
- Uses basic hand tools such as measuring tapes, wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, and specialty equipment including magnetic drills and plasma cutters.
- Learns and operates welding and production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrates the ability to adapt to the company's specialized metal-cored welding process with minimal training.
- Successfully completes a hands-on weld test demonstrating proper technique, weld quality, consistency, and ability to work with the company's welding equipment and materials.
- Willingness to cross-train and move to other work areas as needed to support production requirements.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and secure work area and properly shuts down equipment and the department at the end of each workday.
- Properly maintains welding equipment, tools, and machinery.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Who We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Prior professional welding experience is required.
- Strong MIG welding experience is required; experience with metal-cored wire is highly preferred.
- Experience welding heavy-duty equipment, truck bodies, trailers, structural components, or similar industrial applications is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with AR450, AR500, or other abrasion-resistant/high-strength steel is a plus.
- Candidates must be comfortable learning and working with a specialized metal-cored welding wire that welds differently than standard hard wire or flux-cored wire.
- Strong welding fundamentals with the ability to produce consistent, structurally sound welds without extensive hands-on training.
- Candidates must demonstrate their welding ability during a hands-on weld test and be able to successfully weld using the company's specific wire, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to troubleshoot welding issues and adjust technique appropriately rather than relying solely on equipment or machine settings as the cause of welding defects.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret tape measures, blueprints, engineering drawings, and installation manuals.
- Ability to use common hand tools and specialty equipment such as magnetic drills and plasma cutters.
- Physically able to frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, or stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs.
- Must wear safety glasses and all other required PPE.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality welds on equipment that must withstand heavy-duty use and highway travel.
What You Can Expect
- $18.00 - $22.00/hr depending on experience
- $17.00 - $18.00/hr entry level with training opportunities to advance depending on weld test results after 90 days
- Regular schedule of Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 4:30pm, first and third Saturday of every month
