SUMMARY The Terrain Park Grooming Lead oversees building and grooming our parks under the supervision of the Terrain Park Manager. Daily maintenance of the terrain parks and construction of new features around the resort is essential for creating reasonably safe and enjoyable experiences for our guests. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Build events and features of any size including but not limited to jumps, rail features, and snow features start to finish. Rake, shovel, and lift large metal objects when needed to maintain the park and ensure it remains in "photo worthy" condition. Communicate needs and project timelines with terrain park manager, day crew lead, and other groomers. Ensure all park build, grooming, and vehicle logs are accurate and filled out daily. RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY: Protect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals. Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others. Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. WORK SCHEDULE Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must have minimum 3 years of terrain park building and winch experience. Welding experience is a plus. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to work longer than scheduled when needed. Must be an expert park rider or skier. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Excellent verbal communication skills. REASONING ABILITY Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
