Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our engineering consulting client's Electrical team in Rock Island, Illinois, with a primary focus on healthcare projects.
In this role, you will lead design efforts, manage projects, and provide engineering solutions for complex building electrical systems. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions that meet client needs and industry standards.
Principal Responsibilities
- Lead and review electrical system designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software to ensure compliance with codes, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Perform site assessments, technical analyses, and reporting; provide technical support to resolve field issues with limited senior oversight
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and support project interviews and presentations
- Mentor and develop staff while staying current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and contributing to continuous improvement and innovation
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- 7-8 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry/MEP Engineering
- Proficiency in principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems
- Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards, NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
- Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
