Controls Engineer

Description

Due to growth and expansion, Satterfield & Pontikes Construction is adding a Controls Engineer to our corporate office in Houston, TX. In this role, you will assist with the planning and execution of project controls processes, systems, and deliverables across the organization. You will support user training, data management, troubleshooting, and reporting efforts to ensure the consistent and effective use of project controls platforms across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Project Engineer, Cost Accountant, or in a similar role with a commercial general contractor.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist with the planning, implementation, and maintenance of project controls processes and systems
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with project teams and internal stakeholders
• Promote and ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and project controls processes
• Support user training and adoption of project controls software and related technologies
• Assist with data entry, validation, troubleshooting, and reporting across multiple projects
• Resolve project controls system inquiries and requests in a timely and effective manner
• Collaborate with project teams to improve consistency, efficiency, and workflow execution
• Support cost tracking, forecasting, and project performance analysis efforts
• Assist in developing reports and dashboards to support project and executive decision-making
• Leverage new technologies to improve Autodesk workflows and overall project controls capabilities
• Work closely with project management and operational leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Controls team
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management required
• 1-3 years of experience in construction, engineering, design, project controls, cost accounting, or a related field
• Commercial construction experience preferred
• Experience as a Project Engineer, Cost Accountant, or similar role with a commercial general contractor preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Experience working with Autodesk platforms and construction technology tools is preferred
