About the Role
FuzeHr is seeking a versatile, proactive, and safety-conscious Maintenance Technician to support both manufacturing operations and facility maintenance. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment, maintaining building systems, and coordinating with contractors and vendors to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to respond effectively to changing production and facility needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all applicable OSHA regulations, company policies, and established safety procedures.
- Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other applicable safety protocols.
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on production equipment, building systems, and facility grounds.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on industrial machinery, HVAC systems, plumbing, lighting, and other facility equipment.
- Identify potential equipment or facility issues and address them before they result in downtime or safety concerns.
- Assist with general facility upkeep and maintenance as needed.
- Assist machine operators with equipment changeovers to minimize production downtime, including core cutting and packaging operations.
- Set up, adjust, and operate industrial machinery as needed to support production.
- Verify equipment is operating safely and properly following setup, maintenance, or repairs.
- Provide timely maintenance support to production personnel. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems affecting production equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Fabricate, modify, and repair parts using shop equipment, including lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and related tools.
- Use appropriate diagnostic equipment and techniques to identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Safely operate forklifts, powered industrial trucks, and other equipment as required.
- Perform equipment inspections and follow established operating and safety procedures.
- Work directly with contractors and vendors during equipment installations, repairs, upgrades, and facility projects.
- Assist with coordinating maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production.
- Monitor contractor work to ensure compliance with company safety and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
- Document equipment issues, corrective actions, and maintenance activities as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve equipment reliability, safety, efficiency, and uptime.
- Assist in identifying recurring equipment and facility issues and developing long-term solutions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification, vocational training, or an associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of machine setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in the safe and effective use of hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to prioritize and respond effectively to changing production and facility needs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions.
- Flexibility to work extended, varied, or non-standard hours as needed to support production and facility requirements.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, equipment documentation, blueprints, and mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
- Effectively use hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
- Apply sound mechanical and troubleshooting practices to maintenance and repair activities.
