Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5 × 8-Hour Shifts
Hours: 40 Hours/Week

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Dietitian to provide comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy and nutrition care to patients across a wide range of age groups, including infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an inpatient hospital setting.

The Dietitian will assess nutritional status, identify and diagnose malnutrition, develop individualized nutrition interventions, manage nutrition support therapies, and monitor patient progress while maintaining accurate and timely documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT).
  • Assess patients' nutritional status and screen for malnutrition using appropriate clinical tools and processes.
  • Identify and diagnose malnutrition and develop appropriate nutrition interventions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
  • Recommend and modify diets, nutrition supplements, dietary supplements, and diet textures according to established protocols.
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and caregivers.
  • Manage enteral and parenteral nutrition support therapies.
  • Select and adjust enteral and parenteral formulas and rates based on energy requirements, laboratory results, and clinical status.
  • Recommend nutrition-related laboratory testing, medications, and vitamin/mineral supplementation according to established protocols.
  • Monitor patient response to nutrition interventions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Accurately document nutrition assessments, diagnoses, interventions, and follow-up care in the medical record.
  • Participate in patient care rounds and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff development activities, patient care rounds, and professional programs.
  • Participate in facility-wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs and initiatives.
  • Follow facility policies, procedures, nutrition protocols, infection-control practices, and patient safety standards.
  • Maintain professional and effective communication with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare team members.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field – Required for professional practice.
Certification & Licensure
  • Current Registered Dietitian (RD) credential/licensure as required for professional practice – Required.
  • CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) Certification – Preferred.
Experience & Skills
  • Pediatric nutrition experience – Preferred.
  • 2+ years of inpatient and/or critical-care experience – Preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition and Medical Nutrition Therapy.
  • Experience managing enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
  • Experience assessing nutritional status and identifying malnutrition.
  • Strong nutrition assessment, intervention, and clinical documentation skills.
  • Ability to provide effective nutrition education and counseling.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
