POSITION Carbon Steel and Vessel Welder Welding Job Title Andrews Department Non-Exempt, Hourly Location Regular, Full-Time FLSA Status Welding Manager Assignment Category This position is responsible for effectively and efficiently performing a variety Primary/Secondary Supervisor of welding duties, as well as knowledge of safety policies and practices. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Essential Job Functions Key Responsibilities • Perform welding operations according to approved WPS and applicable welding codes • Perform SMAW and GMAW welding on code vessels and piping • Measure, cut, fit, and assemble stainless steel parts prior to welding • Ensure welds meet quality, strength, and appearance standards • Inspect finished welds and make corrections as needed • Weld using processes such as SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and/or FCAW • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols • Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and fitting components • Maintain weld quality to meet visual, radiographic, and ultrasonic inspection standards • Operate welding and related equipment safely and efficiently • Document welds and maintain required quality and inspection records • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and job-site protocols Job Description – Carbon Steel and Vessel Welder 1|Page Rev: 06/2026 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Work with inspectors and supervisors to resolve weld issues or repairs • Maintain a clean and organized work area • Other duties as assigned by manager. Qualifications • Experience with pipe welding (carbon steel, stainless, alloy) • Knowledge of structural and pipe welding. • Ability to pass an ASME 6G pipe test. • Knowledge of welding safety standards and procedures • Knowledge of OSHA occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions and ability to communicate compliance to others. • Ability to multi-task and accomplish tasks despite interruptions. • Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals). • Ability to read blueprints and drawings. • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship • Must have reliable transportation to and from work. • Ability to work standard work hours from 6:00am to 5:00pm plus overtime as needed (weekdays) and some weekends as needed. Working Conditions • Primarily shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, welding fumes, and heavy equipment. • Occasional office work for reporting and administrative duties. • May require extended hours or weekends to meet deadlines. Physical Requirements • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and welding shields when required. • Ability to work long shifts • Ability to drive long distances, often alone • Ability to wear FRC in the field. • Ability to work in all weather conditions. 2|Page
