Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant FT

Location: Statesboro, GA

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you'll play a vital role in helping residents regain independence, improve their quality of life, and receive personalized care.

About the Role:

As a COTA at Browns Health and Rehabilitation Center, you will provide skilled interventions designed to improve residents' functional independence under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will implement ADL and IADL training, therapeutic activities, and exercises to enhance residents' mobility, safety, and independence. You will also document treatments, progress, and clinical response, and communicate with the OT and interdisciplinary team regarding resident progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled interventions designed to improve residents' functional independence under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist

  • Implement ADL and IADL training, therapeutic activities, and exercises to enhance residents' mobility, safety, and independence

  • Document treatments, progress, and clinical response, and communicate with the OT and interdisciplinary team regarding resident progress

  • Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive equipment, fine motor activities, and cognitive interventions

  • Help residents achieve meaningful, individualized functional goals and achieve independence in daily living activities

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • Current, valid COTA license/certification in Georgia

  • CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Passion for working with the geriatric population

  • Previous SNF/LTC experience preferred, but not required

  • New graduates are encouraged to apply!
