LPN - MedSurg
DepartmentMGH Medical-Surgical Unit
Full Time/PRNPRN (As Needed)
Job SummaryResponsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient and family-centered care in the assigned nursing unit. Provides care by obtaining patient information and assisting in the development and implementation of plans of care designed to meet the physical, psychological, educational, and sociocultural needs of patients and families.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Current Mississippi Practical Nurse license.
- BLS certification required.
- IV Certification required or obtained within six months of hire.
- One year of clinical and/or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Previous hospital experience preferred.
- Provide safe and effective patient care within scope of practice.
- Collect patient information and assist with assessment activities.
- Contribute to development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Administer treatments and interventions as delegated.
- Document patient care accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain professional licensure and certifications.
- Follow organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Promote patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift.
- Ability to assist with patient movement and positioning.
- Ability to perform essential nursing functions in a clinical environment.
