Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist with strong Electrophysiology (EP) experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

This is a highly specialized cardiovascular role requiring hands-on experience in both the Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab. The technologist will support diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures as well as electrophysiology procedures and cardiac device implants.

Candidates must have at least 3 years of recent experience and must be comfortable scrubbing for both Cath Lab and EP procedures.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.

· Scrub and provide technical support during coronary angiography and interventional procedures.

· Assist with electrophysiology studies, ablations, and cardiac device procedures.

· Support pacemaker, ICD, and other cardiac device implant procedures.

· Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, supplies, and sterile fields.

· Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and procedural setup.

· Maintain sterile technique throughout invasive cardiovascular procedures.

· Operate and troubleshoot Cath Lab and EP equipment within scope of practice.

· Assist with vascular access supplies and procedural equipment.

· Monitor procedural workflow and anticipate physician and team needs.

· Support structural heart procedures as required.

· Assist with hemodynamic monitoring and cardiovascular procedural documentation when appropriate.

· Follow radiation safety standards and proper protective practices.

· Participate in procedural time-outs and patient safety checks.

· Collaborate with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other members of the cardiovascular team.

· Respond appropriately during cardiac and procedural emergencies.

· Follow hospital infection-control, safety, and regulatory requirements.

· Maintain accurate and timely procedural documentation.

Required Experience

Candidates must have:

· Minimum 3 years of Cardiac Cath Lab / cardiovascular procedural experience

· Hands-on Cardiac Cath Lab experience

· Hands-on Electrophysiology (EP) experience

· Experience scrubbing diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures

· Experience scrubbing interventional cardiac catheterization procedures

· Experience supporting electrophysiology procedures

· Experience supporting cardiac device implants

· Experience with structural heart procedures

· Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced invasive cardiovascular environment

Both Cath Lab and EP experience are required for this assignment.

Required Certifications

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifying credentials:

· RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

· RCES – Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist

· ARRT (RT) with VI – Vascular Interventional or CI – Cardiac Interventional certification

Additionally, candidates must have:

· BLS – Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association

· ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support through the American Heart Association

AHA BLS and ACLS are required.

Strong candidates should be comfortable with:

· Cardiac catheterization procedures

· Diagnostic coronary angiography

· Percutaneous coronary intervention support

· Electrophysiology studies

· Cardiac ablation procedures

· Pacemaker implantation

· ICD implantation

· Cardiac device procedures

· Structural heart procedures

· Sterile technique

· Vascular access support

· Hemodynamic monitoring

· Procedural documentation

· Interdisciplinary communication

Preferred Qualifications

Strong candidates may also have experience with:

· High-volume Cath Lab environments

· Complex PCI procedures

· Structural heart programs

· Leadless cardiac devices

· Advanced electrophysiology procedures

· 3D cardiac mapping systems

· Temporary pacemaker procedures

· Peripheral vascular interventions

· Travel or contract cardiovascular assignments

· Multiple cardiovascular procedural specialties

Schedule Requirements

· Night Shift

· Four 10-hour shifts per week

· 40 hours per week

· Schedule may vary based on procedural volume and department needs.

· Flexibility may be required for urgent cardiovascular procedures or changes in case volume.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced Cath Lab Tech who is equally comfortable working in Electrophysiology and can move between the two service areas as needed.

You should be confident scrubbing complex cardiovascular procedures, supporting device implants, maintaining sterile technique, and working closely with cardiologists and electrophysiologists.
