Position Summary
GetWell Healthsystems is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing Behavioral Health team at our onsite Jeffersonville, Indiana location.
The provider will be responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, providing medication management, monitoring patient progress, and coordinating care with other members of the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to behavioral healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and behavioral health assessments.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's clinical needs.
- Provide psychiatric medication management, including initiating, adjusting, and monitoring medications.
- Monitor treatment effectiveness, patient progress, and potential medication side effects.
- Evaluate and manage conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, mood disorders, and other behavioral health conditions.
- Order and review laboratory testing and diagnostic studies when clinically appropriate.
- Provide education to patients regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
- Collaborate with therapists, case managers, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
- Make appropriate referrals for therapy, specialty care, addiction treatment, or higher levels of psychiatric care when necessary.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
- Follow applicable Indiana laws, prescribing requirements, HIPAA regulations, and professional standards.
- Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care to all patients.
Qualifications – Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric-Mental Health specialization.
- Current and unrestricted Indiana APRN license.
- Current PMHNP-BC certification.
- Active RN license.
- DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one.
- Previous psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred.
- Experience with psychiatric medication management preferred.
Qualifications – Physician Assistant
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current and unrestricted Indiana Physician Assistant license.
- Current NCCPA certification.
- DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one.
- Previous experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, addiction medicine, or a related specialty preferred.

Schedule
This is a part-time, onsite position at our Jeffersonville, Indiana location. Weekly hours and schedule will be determined based on provider availability and clinic needs. Some flexibility in scheduling may be available.
