We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the nursing department and ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to our residents. The Director of Nursing is responsible for providing clinical leadership, supervising nursing staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and promoting a positive environment focused on resident safety, quality of care, and staff development. The Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department and ensure appropriate staffing and coverage.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and CNAs.

  • Monitor the quality of resident care and ensure nursing services are provided according to established standards and care plans.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.

  • Participate in hiring, orientation, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing development of nursing staff.

  • Review and monitor resident assessments, care plans, documentation, and clinical records.

  • Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

  • Monitor infection prevention and control practices and promote a safe and healthy environment.

  • Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Respond to clinical concerns, emergencies, and changes in resident condition as needed.

  • Help maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage nursing department schedules.

  • Promote effective communication and teamwork among nursing and other facility departments.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

  • Support survey readiness and address any identified areas of concern.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by facility leadership.

Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.

  • Previous nursing leadership or management experience preferred.

  • Long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or senior care experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and quality standards.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with residents, families, employees, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.
