FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Quality Inspector to support final inspection of finished products in an industrial manufacturing and metal shop environment. This temp-to-hire role is responsible for inspecting finished pipe, measuring inside and outside diameters, using calipers and other precision measuring tools, reading blueprints and customer specifications, documenting inspection results, identifying quality issues, and supporting production quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have quality inspection experience in industrial manufacturing, steel, metal fabrication, or a similar environment, strong attention to detail, forklift experience, and bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing final inspections of finished products
- Inspecting finished pipe to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards
- Measuring finished pipe, primarily 18-inch to 24-inch diameter products
- Measuring inside and outside diameters accurately
- Using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, flashlights, and related measuring equipment
- Reading and understanding blueprints, drawings, and customer specifications
- Identifying and reporting quality issues or products that do not meet specifications
- Communicating effectively with production team members, customers, and vendors
- Completing inspection documentation accurately
- Maintaining quality records and inspection data
- Following company quality procedures
- Following company safety procedures
- Operating a forklift as needed
- Supporting production and quality teams in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
- Maintaining attention to detail and accuracy throughout inspection activities
- Performing other duties as assigned
The selected candidate will also possess:
- 2+ years of quality inspection experience required
- Industrial manufacturing, steel, metal fabrication, metal shop, or similar experience required
- Experience with final inspection of finished goods required
- Experience measuring pipe or similar products preferred
- Experience using calipers required
- Micrometer experience preferred
- Experience using tape measures and other precision measuring tools required
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications required
- Forklift experience preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills required
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with team members, customers, and vendors
- Good vision and strong attention to detail
- Strong accuracy with measurements, documentation, and inspection records
- Ability to identify nonconforming products and communicate quality concerns
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and safety-conscious work habits
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
- Ability to work onsite in Gardena, CA
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM
- Ability to support a temp-to-hire opportunity
- Ability to complete a drug screen, physical, and vision test as required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, crouch, push, pull, lift, carry, and move throughout manufacturing and inspection areas as needed
- Ability to inspect finished pipe and manufactured products while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to use hands and fingers for measuring, inspecting, documenting, operating tools, using calipers, using micrometers, and standard quality inspection tasks
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, customer specifications, quality records, inspection documentation, and computer screens as needed
- Ability to use measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and related inspection tools
- Ability to operate a forklift as needed
- Ability to work around steel, pipe, manufacturing equipment, materials, and shop floor activity while following all safety procedures
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel toe boots, as required
- Ability to maintain good vision for inspection, measurement, and quality review tasks
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move materials, tools, documents, or supplies as needed
Salary Range: $21 to $26/hour
