About the Role
Location: Fargo, ND
The Procedural Registered Nurse provides compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment. This role supports clinical operations, patient care coordination, telephone and electronic triage, procedural support, prescription workflows, and provider communication. The RN serves as a key liaison among patients, providers, surgery centers, vendors, and internal clinic teams to help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate and support daily clinic operations, patient flow, and provider schedules.
· Triage patient calls, portal messages, medication questions, and urgent clinical concerns; escalate issues to providers when appropriate.
· Review abnormal diagnostics, lab results, imaging, and clinical updates, and communicate concerns according to established protocols.
· Manage prescription refill requests, medication documentation, and related patient communications.
· Assist providers with office-based procedures, including patient preparation, supplies, documentation, and post-procedure instructions.
· Provide patient education, discharge instructions, and follow-up guidance in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner.
· Schedule operating room procedures and coordinate procedure consents, required documentation, and related patient instructions.
· Coordinate pre-operative requirements, including cardiac clearance, medical clearance, testing, and communication with external facilities.
· Coordinate vendor and representative coverage for procedures as needed.
· Initiate and follow up on prior authorizations for procedures, medications, imaging, and other services.
· Maintain clinical supply inventory, monitor supply outdates, and help ensure exam rooms and procedure areas are stocked and ready for use.
· Document nursing assessments, interventions, patient communications, education, and care coordination activities accurately in the electronic medical record.
· Support marketing lead workflows and patient outreach activities as needed.
· Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all applicable clinic policies, HIPAA requirements, safety standards, and infection prevention practices.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Dakota (compact license accepted)
- ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Procedural, peri-operative, or critical-care experience preferred
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, respond calmly to urgent patient needs, and work effectively in a busy clinic setting.
- Experience with electronic medical records and patient communication platforms preferred.

Work Environment and Schedule
· Work is performed primarily in a professional outpatient healthcare clinic and procedure center environment.
· This role involves frequent interaction with patients, families or caregivers, providers, surgery centers, vendors, and internal team members in person, by phone, and through electronic communication systems.
· The position requires regular use of clinical and office equipment, including computers, phones, electronic medical record systems, patient communication platforms, exam room supplies, procedure-related equipment, and standard clinic equipment.
· The role may involve exposure to standard healthcare conditions, including bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, medications, and infectious materials, and requires adherence to infection control, privacy, safety, and clinical practice policies.
· Schedule is generally during regular business hours, with flexibility needed to support patient care schedules, clinic operations, procedure schedules, and occasional changes in workflow.
· Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to support nursing coverage, patient care coordination, provider schedules, and overall clinic operations.
