About the Role:
The Environmental Services Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and improving environmental health and safety standards across various facilities and outdoor sites. This position involves the implementation of environmental control measures, monitoring of waste management processes, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The technician will conduct routine inspections, collect samples for analysis, and assist in the development of sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact. Collaboration with environmental scientists, regulatory agencies, and facility management is essential to address environmental concerns effectively. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Experience with environmental sampling and monitoring techniques.
- Ability to use standard environmental testing equipment and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certification in environmental science, environmental technology, or a related field.
- Experience working with hazardous waste management and disposal procedures.
- Training in OSHA safety standards and hazardous materials handling.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with regulatory agencies and team members.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of environmental control systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance with regulations.
- Collect, document, and analyze environmental samples such as air, water, and soil to monitor pollution levels and identify potential hazards.
- Manage waste disposal processes, including hazardous and non-hazardous materials, following all safety protocols and legal requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of environmental reports and documentation required for regulatory compliance and internal audits.
- Support the development and implementation of environmental sustainability programs aimed at reducing waste and conserving resources.
- Respond promptly to environmental incidents or emergencies, coordinating with relevant authorities and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of environmental data, equipment maintenance, and training activities to ensure traceability and accountability.
