Job Description
Green Meadows Partners is partnering with an established and growing organization in the Powell, TN area to identify an experienced HR & Accounting Specialist.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants to play an important role across both Human Resources and Accounting. The HR & Accounting Specialist will serve as a key HR resource for employees while also supporting payroll, accounting, financial reporting, and administrative functions.
We're looking for someone who is organized, approachable, comfortable working independently, and enjoys having variety in their day rather than focusing on just one area of the business.
Human Resources Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary HR resource for employees
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
- Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding
- Process hourly payroll and maintain accurate employee records
- Coordinate employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and annual enrollment
- Partner with leadership on employee relations, coaching, and disciplinary matters
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Coordinate performance review processes and maintain job descriptions
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures
- Research compensation and benefits information to help maintain competitive employment practices
- Coordinate new employee technology setup with third-party providers
Accounting & Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close
- Prepare monthly and quarterly sales tax filings
- Manage fixed asset records, including acquisitions and disposals
- Assist with project cost analysis and project closeout reporting
- Support insurance audits and other financial reporting requirements
- Assist with budgeting and financial analysis
- Help identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounting and administrative processes
- Oversee additional administrative functions, including company credit cards and cell phone management
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Accounting, or a combination of both
- Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits
- Working knowledge of HR best practices and employment regulations
- Understanding of accounting principles and general ledger reconciliations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to handle sensitive employee and financial information with discretion
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
