CNC Lathe Operator II

Shifts Available: 2nd & 3rd Shift
Employment: Full-Time | Direct Hire

We are seeking experienced CNC Lathe Operator II candidates with strong setup, machining, troubleshooting, and CNC editing skills. This position is ideal for an experienced machinist who can work independently, hold tight tolerances, solve machining problems, and produce high-quality parts.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC lathes with minimal supervision.
• Machine steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Work to tight tolerances, including .0002".
• Read blueprints, process sheets, and dimensional specifications.
• Perform complete setups, including chuck jaws, tooling, workholding, and fixtures.
• Preset tools and make necessary tooling adjustments.
• Read and edit CNC programs for troubleshooting and process improvements.
• Run programs in single block when required.
• Determine appropriate feeds and speeds based on tooling and material.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot setup, tooling, machining, and quality issues.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and tool sharpening.
• Identify and recommend process improvements.
• Assist with training less-experienced CNC operators.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of proven CNC lathe experience.
• Strong CNC lathe setup capabilities.
• Ability to perform advanced CNC program edits.
• Ability to read CNC programs and run single block.
• Strong blueprint-reading skills.
• Experience with precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and tooling.
• Experience with fixturing and steady rests.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently and handle problems not covered on setup sheets.
• Overhead crane experience.
• Ability to train new operators.
• Must own basic hand tools.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
