CNC Machinist (1st & 2nd shift available)

Job Summary:

Ace Staffing is seeking experienced CNC Machinists for full-time 1st and 2nd shift opportunities in Apopka, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Shift Options & Hours:

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
• Overtime may be required based on production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

CNC Programming & Setup

• Review engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, job travelers, and tooling instructions to determine machining requirements, tooling, and tolerances.
• Create, modify, merge, and optimize CAM programs and G/M-code using Fanuc controls to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
• Complete full machine setups: material verification, tool selection/presetting, fixturing, work offsets, machine alignment, and adjustment of holding devices.
• Set up and utilize Renishaw probing systems (automated cycles, manual probing, and macro adjustments).

Machining & Production

• Operate CNC Vertical Machining Centers, CNC Press Brakes, CNC Waterjets, and manual machinery to produce tight-tolerance components based on GD&T specifications.
• Execute roughing, finishing, drilling, tapping, contouring, pocketing, and complex multi-axis operations.
• Monitor tool wear, perform offset adjustments, and run multiple machines simultaneously where appropriate.
• Build, modify, and maintain fixtures and work-holding solutions.

Inspection & Quality Control

• Perform First Article Inspections, in-process checks, and 100% final inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, and optical comparators.
• Verify dimensions against GD&T standards, flatness, concentricity, parallelism, and true position requirements.
• Document inspection results, machine readings, and job traveler updates; report any nonconformances immediately.

Continuous Improvement & Maintenance

• Support lean manufacturing practices to reduce setup times and optimize speeds/feeds.
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance on machines and maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with ISO quality standards.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior operators and machinists as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining, setup, and programming experience with proven ability to hold tight tolerances.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with Fanuc controls, G/M-code programming, and CAM software.
• Blueprint Reading: Deep understanding of complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and datum structures.
• Tooling & Probing: Solid knowledge of speeds/feeds, tool selection, cutter paths, and Renishaw probing systems (macros/manual cycles).
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or machining certification preferred.
• Environment: Experience working within an ISO-certified manufacturing facility preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

 Must be able to pass a standard drug screening and background check upon offer acceptance.
